Born in a multicultural city from parents with Swiss, Dutch and British origins, I have always been attracted by the international scene. This encouraged me to complete a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the University of Geneva with an exchange semester at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. I decided to focus on Economics but still wanted to keep an international focus and learn in a diverse environment. Therefore, I chose to do my Master’s degree at the Graduate Institute Geneva.

My first exchange semester was incredibly fulfilling and I knew before starting my Master that I wanted to relive this experience. Going to Yale University will allow me to discover the American culture, interact with people from so many backgrounds and will complement my education very nicely. I am looking forward to this amazing opportunity, which will help me decide if I want to pursue a career in the Academic sector or not.

I am very grateful to the Zdenek and Michaela Bakala Foundation for allowing me to undertake this thrilling journey in one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
