Since I was young, I have always been curious and interested in science. During high school, in Burier, I was able to discover Biology as well as Chemistry in more detail, two fields that I had chosen as specialties. I was particularly passionate about Chemistry and began to read books and magazines in order to learn more about this topic. I continued my studies with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). During this Bachelor, I was able to discover how vast Chemistry is. I had the opportunity to do two internships in two different research laboratories at the EPFL in organic chemistry during my summer holidays, which allowed me to apply more practical work and learn more about the research area. Theses internships were extremely beneficial from a practical point of view, but also from a theoretical one because the subjects were not known. I’m currently near the end of my Master in Biological and Molecular Chemistry at the EPFL, specializing in organic chemistry and I will complete my master‘s thesis at the prestigious University of Stanford, California, in the Trost’s research group thanks to the Zdenek and Michaela Bakala Foundation, for which I am very grateful. Besides Chemistry, my interests are sports, such as running and motorcycle as well as music. I can play several instruments and I compose songs that I play with my band.
